Written Demands, Complaints, & Investigations
Demands & Complaints for Wages: If a company owes you salaries, you can send your employer a written need for payment of earnings by mail, e-mail, text, or other electronic means. A written demand may be sent out to the employer at the exact same time a Labor Standards Complaint Form for unsettled earnings is submitted with the Division. The Labor Standards Complaint Form can be discovered on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements website.
Employer Responses in Investigations: Once a complete Labor Standards Complaint Form is gotten and examined, a letter describing the nature of the problem and the quantities alleged to be owed is sent to the employer. For more details about the examination procedure, please review the Wage & Hour Claim Investigations - webpage.
Investigations Launched by the Division (" Direct Investigations"): The Division may perform employer-wide direct investigations of prospective violations of Colorado wage and hour law. If you would like to send an idea, please email the Division at cdle_di_tips@state.co.us. If you want to submit an individual claim for unpaid wages, you should complete a Labor Standards Complaint Form on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements website. To appeal a direct examination citation or several Notices of Assessment, an alleged employer may send a Direct Investigation Appeal Form.
